No, I'm just like you... I didn't want you to think I meant darting. I can see how you could think that. I know how you get these guys that don't know crap about sledding saying how thier Mach Z it still the greatest...ETC. That can get annoying. Or the guys that cry forever about a bent A arm... I could just as easlily have read my own post as negitive. I'm a trail rider and I drive on the edge. I'll take to this sled in time because of my riding style. I have to drive 20 miles to get to the trails and I do a lot of running around off trail. I was only talking about the XTX as it was handling in deep power. I should have been more careful with my terminology. Especially after Twitchy was used to describe how it felt on trails going into corners. I have not experienced this. Hopefully with the 09 XTX I won't. I was driving out on a river that has 2" of ice. There were big slush pools that I would have to dodge. I was giving her at around 100 km /hr which was around full speed in the heavy deep snow. When I would cut to miss the slush pool it would nose dive and want to roll. I wasn't expecting that type of reaction. It was over reacting because of the deep snow and the engine braking. I did expect it to have a lower center of gravity after reading all the magazine articles. I think I understand it a bit better now with 50 Km on her. The Apex has another foot of nose stuck out there so it doesn't feel like you could go over the handle bars as easily. Plus the 1.5 track really bites in for engine braking with makes the back shift more pronounced. I could stop on a up hill grade, then take off with out a thought of being stuck. The Apex would not do that. When you stopped going up hill in 2 feet of snow you were digging and lifting for a while. That is why I got rid of the Apex. I do complain about Hyfax wear and the old drivers needing a tight track to keep from ratcheting. But I love what Yamaha has done in the last 3 years. Merry Christmas! I'm spending the rest of the night with the Girlfriend as she is as sweet as a kitten. Not as furry. HeHe

For those of you that are new to the Nytro, and those who have commented about the "twitchynes" on hard-pack, remove your skis, turn the ski rubber around, and put a shim underneath the ski rubber BEHIND teh spindle bolt. It needs to be something about 3/8" thick. Many people use a piece of an old track, or the bottom part of an old hyfax. This will cause your skis to have more pressure on the rear of the ski, and eliminate 99% of all your darting issues. Mr Sled and I both tried it last year at a Muni ride, and it wa a night and day difference!! Try it! It's nearly free!
