I made my first trip to the mountains last week and had a blast, but something kind of has me stumped. On the trails around Cooke City I got my sled up to 84 mph which is plenty fast. The problem is at low elevation the most I could get was about 75. I had the correct clutch setups for each elevation but left in the stock gearing. I was under the understanding that at higher elevations the performance of the motors should come down. Probably done riding for the year but if anyone has any advice, I would like to get it figured out by next year.

probably just conditions, or the motor is starting to run. 80's at cooke is hauln at that altitude. How did the sled do out there?

I had a couple buddies with new m8 and i could climb just about as high as them, i think maverick was the limiting factor. It takes a lot more body input to ride too because it is so tall, not that it is bad thing, it just took me a couple of days to get used to.

89 on gps at 1000 feet elevation, with low elevation clutch set up, high elevation gearing still. plenty happy. ski
