The first time I was cruising at about 100 mph on a lake and it was like I hit the kill switch, sled died, speedo went blank. Took the plastic off and checked all the connectors, didn't find anything then mysteriously the sled came back to life. The second time the sled was warming up and then the same thing happened after about 3 minutes of idle. Did the same thing and checked the connectors and didn't find anything then out of the blue the sled came back to life. Please help.

If you need to take it somewhere to be fixed, Whittemore & Sons in Skowhegan is top-notch, I've known the mechanic for 15 years, he's the best in the biz.
Wish I knew what the problem is but Whittemore did find a similar problem on a buddy's SX700, was a shorted electrical connector that looked fine on the outside, it was burnt inside.
Do any error codes appear?

No codes, I would really like to handle this my-self, I appreciate the reference, but with Ty I have changed my track, my drivers, my jackshaft, all of my chain case bearings. I am a master electrician so if I can get a direction on the electrical system I believe I can trace the problem out.

Might be an overheating issue; I've had mine shut-down while warming-up before. :-o

Sounds like a wire SHORTING on frame somewhere, I'd start from the front harness and check for either a pinched or wire insulation wearing on a sharp peice of metal or aluminum, '03 and '04 had a simular problem with wires shorting in the front nose part.

I was loading a map to my PCIII and the same thing happen just as you described it.

No warning light. What was the problem with the pc-3? I had just installed the dynojet lcd when it quit the second time. When it dies it goes from running perfect to complete blackout.

Ive had this problem shortly after installing the pc3 and ign box...seems the instructions missed a key last step...plugging in the last connector into the pc3...stopped shutting down..
also..recently...after some high speed running... it would shut down ...turned out I was low on coolant...topped her off...

I found the issue while tracing out wires. The connector to the key switch (just under the plastic) had a loose connection or maybe some corrosion, I could see where the connector was shorting. I cleaned the connector and added some di-electric grease. I have been about 200 miles and still no problems. Thanks for all of the help guys.
