The track on the sled that I am repairing (from my other thread) has a spot with edge damage that probably was caused by the same accident. Is this usable or junk? The track looks good otherwise and has just under 2600 miles on it. The damage is on the back side of the lug but you can see the end of the fiberglass rod.

i ran one that looked worse than that all last season on a phazer and another one on my rx a few years ago with no problems. it will probably be fine. it will shed that lug at some point but should still make the season.

With no studs on the outside I think you will,be OK. I would run it, just keep an eye on it.

I work a tire company that has their own retread plant. I have the capability of cleaning up the damaged area, putting in some new, uncured rubber, and curing it in our curing chamber. It gets to 250 degrees. The track & studs would be fine but I am not sure if the nylon part of the lock nuts on the studs will handle 250 degrees for 1.5 hours.

It only has 108 (I think) down the middle right now.

I'll pull the track off now and replace it if it may only last a season. A friend may be buying the sled from me and won't want any issues. Plus the track may need to come out to replace the left side of the tunnel.

i replaced both those tracks for the next season as it happened on both of them during the season.

that track probably would be fine on a lower horsepower sled.

if you are need i have a rip saw 136 used , but you can try shoe goo to repair that track we have had good luck with that stuff you can get it at wal-mart.
