Hi,

I have a 09 Nytro RTX, I will order this aft the OFT rail extension to from 121 to 136. From what I read on this forum, every body says that is one of the best thing they have done to their sled.

Now comes the time to order my track but I am realy don't know what brand is good or not. All I know is that I will put a 15 x 136x 1.75. I ride 60% trails and 40% off trail!

Thanks

I went to 2 different shop today and one offer me a Backcountry and the other one a Chalenger.

What are your oppinions?

Dirk is the only one I've ever heard have a problem with the 121 to 136 conversion. Everyone else seems to love it. I didn't think it was any harder to drive it through the woods and mine transferred weight like crazy

Ebay is a good place to find a cheap 1.75 track. type in "136 camoplast" and you'll get a bunch of results for older 1.75 polaris rmk tracks that look like they'd be good 50/50 on/off trail tracks. You'll even find new ones on there.

Don't want to hijack but is it worth going to 1.5 or 1.75 without extending it?

It would definitely help quite a bit, mostly because the ripsaw sucks so bad in powder. You can squeeze a 2" in there and I bet that would be a lot of fun. Huge wheelies!

But for a couple hundred dollars more, you could have a 136"

After some researche, all that I can find what for my first option is the Back country â„¢ 136 15 1.75. What are your oppinion on that track? I would like to know what are your experience with this track.

I found some other that could do the job but are less agressive like the RIPSAWâ„¢ 136 15 1.5 and the INTENSE â„¢136 15 1.5.

Again I would like some feed back again.

Thanks

I am extending it to 136. You can get some 121 track with 1.5 or 1.75 but unless you are in to snowcross, I don't think worth it. A 121 in the powder will just dig it self faster. Lol

I totaled my 136 Nytro. I bought the same sled "2009 RTX SE" and left it as a 121. It corners better, Transfers better, and is 100 times more fun to ride. I have a buddy with a Super charged RTX and he went to 136 even though I told him he'd hate it. Well guess what he hates it. Said all the same things I said "corning sucks now, Doesn't transfer, and is zero fun to ride compared to when it was a 121.

I've had 136's for years and loved all of them. this is the first one I hated.

Hey just my 2 cents. Instead of sticking a ton of money into a new track, Tunnel extensions, and rail extensions why not send your shocks to Hy gear for a re-valve and make your 121 work better?

I haven't had expierence with the backcountry but don't get the 1.5ripsaw for off trail. The ripsaw is one of the worst tracks in the powder.
For 40% off trail i would go with the back country track.

I understand what you're saying, but I really didn't feel any negative effects of stretching mine to 136. To each his own I guess. It did wheelie a little easier as a 121...which is a lot of fun, but not always the best for corner to corner trail riding, so I was pretty happy to get rid of some of that

;)!

that's cool

I'm excited to hear how you like your Etec. PM me some input on it. I really like that sled ;)!

difference between a 136 and a 121"

Really your not going to notice much difference going from 121" to 136" in the corners. I have a 144" nitro and I'm sure the tipped up rails don't account for a whole lot helping in the corners. You just have to muscle it around corners. If your not an aggressive driver then the nitro is NOT the sled for you. Most people who drive with a little enthusiasm think they are agressive. They are better suited to the Apex. I love the nitro for hill climb. Cornering is hard as it is hard steering. Plus the nitro doesn't like the hard pack.
