That is what I wanted to do for set up also.
Any way, my project is on ice. Our local snomobile trail will be close this winter because of the farmer that will not give acess to there land for our trail. I hope that none of you guys were planing a trip up in Saguenay this winter. You will regreat it and waste your money.

Rail extensions are stronger than stock rails. You will have no problems. I have jumped and rode hard through huge moguls with no problems.

snownutz said:I had a stuuded 121 ripsaw and installed the 144" tipped up rail extension from OFT. The sled handles so much better and so much more fun to ride. Would never go back to a 121" OFT's products are top noch and product suport are second to none. Shockwave I would try contacting them or again or give them a call. There's been a bunch of snow shows around and it is probablt the bussiest time of year for these manufacturers. They have always been graet at returning messages and emails to me.
I fanaly got in touch with them.
I will have a kit order by next week.

couch said:Fabulous!!!! Far better off trail (all of our riding) especially with the 1.75" Backcountry. If you ride only on trail then probably stay with 121" ... no stucks last season with the 144" and less of the rear end sway / chatter when breaking.
Do you have to remove the tunnel and cooler protector when you are running a Backcountry track?

136" OFT Extension
NOTE: I installed the 136" OFT extensions last year and highly recommend another set of idler wheels installed. I purchased an OEM set of idler wheels for a 2009 xtx and installed them just before the rails tip up in the back. Just remove the bolts that are currently holding your rear suspension pivot shaft to your rails, install the wheel and reinstall a longer OEM bolt through the wheel assembly into the pivot shaft. It's really easy.

I see lot of guys running extension on this forum, please take 2 min to tell us what you really think. I am shure that I am not the only one looking at doing this mods.
Sorry if my english is bad, I am from Québec.
I just did the OFT 136" I haven't had a chance to ride it yet but as far as I'm concerned it's the sled Yamaha should have built in the first place. Call Scott or be patient he will get back to you.. I studied this topic to death and the quality of the OFT is second to none.... I didn't stick to the plans but you get the idea.

The one I have I don't believe is produced anymore. It's a Ski-doo Hill-X track, made for doo by Campoplast. But if I were to buy a new one it would be a Camoplast backcountry.

Do you have any pics of this? I'm assuming you had wear on the slides at the bend? I can't see how you wouldn't without the extra wheels. Here is my set up so far.
