I'm sure this will open a can of worms but i'll ask anyway. My 07 apex er has the" oh so great rip saw" 1.25 IMO it's junk. What is the best thing for more traction? I considered pics but also considered more of a deeper lug and bar type track but not sure wich is the best

Depends on what you ride. I ride mostly groomed trails and lakes and I won't ride without studs, I almost slid off a 50 foot cliff once on an icy corner without studs and I won't let that happen again, Its too much of a safety issue for me. When I want to stop, I want some traction... Now if you ride lots of deep snow or off trail, Id recommend a deeper lug track, thats gunna get you more traction when you need it..

I don't see any problems with the ripsaw, i have almost 6k on mine with 144 studs all over the place and the traction is incredible. Blip the fun trigger and it launches every time. And the track shows no sign of excessive wear.
I don't ride deep powder or off trail much so I can't comment on that.

Yea that is my problem, i ride both trail and off trail. So yeah pics in the rip saw did cross my mind, but off trail it would just add more weight and slow me down even more. Shank i know what you mean about not being able to stop, i've been there too. Thanks fellers

Ripsaw is about as good as it gets on real firm haedpack. as soon as snow loosens up or your in powder the cobra takes over.

I just installed the Ice Ripper XT and I am thouroughly impressed so far! On icy corners it hooks up and keeps me from sliding too bad but on the snow it keeps me going well. Last night we had severe drifting where I ride and we were chopping in and out of 3-4 foot drifts and I had no problem running through these.

I run the Back Country 1.75 and am so happy with it. Hardest hooking track I have ever had. Sucks some top end up though that's for sure.

I just installed a Cobra on my Attak. Had a studded Ripsaw previously. Night and day difference on typical trail snow and the Cobra isn't even studded yet.
