Trade-in value on 05 RX-1???

Any of you guys who ordered the Apex or Attacks have to trade in an 05 RX-1 without reverse. I'm wondering what a dealer would give for a low mileage unit on trade?

From what I have read on this site and was quoted at the time of my trade in was between $6000 and $6500. You would have gotten closer to $6500 in the spring.

Many dealers were selling brand new 05 RX-1 with reverse for $7500 last spring just to get rid of them. My guess is there are lots of 05's around with reverse that dealers would take 7000 for just to move them. This brings down the price they will offer you for a used one. My quess is that they will not offer you much over 5000 real dollars off their clean deal price for yours w/o reverse. They might offer you 6000 off retail - but that is just a numbers game.

I sold a loaded warrior 05,mint condition,3000 miles for $6500 in may 05. Both buyer and seller felt it was fair deal. studdog

Actually I'm looking into buying an 05 RX-1 without reverse. What would you pay for an 05 RX-1 with no studs or upgrades of any kind with around 1,500 miles on it? I was thinking if I could get it for $5,500 and install the reverse kit...whaddya figure $500 for the kit? Then I've got a nice sled for $6,000. The thing that still bugs me is the skid with no zerks and the monoshock cable. Does the upgrade cable really work? Also has anyone installed their own zerks on the skid?

Sniper - while your paying a 1000 less for a used sled with 1500 miles on it- consider for 1000 more you could have a brand new 05RX-1 with warranty. Unless the used sled had the extended warranty, I would think paying the extra would be worth it. Also consider that Yamaha will warranty the cable and help cover the skid (w arm and possibly bushings) which were known problems. My buddies RX-1 was covered for all these problems under warranty.
