Nothing against the nytro, it's an awsome sled and I loved the power it has, but I think my tastes are changing as far as riding style. I still love to ditch bang but just not all day and I think that's where the nytro feels at home. I went back a model year but I test drove an Apex GT and loved it. I wanted the Attak GT so they got one in for me. Just from what I have read here I think I will be happy with it. I just registered today so any insight as to not make me sound like an idiot on this website will be appreciated. I have gotten a lot of information from this site over the past few years and have been very appreciative of that. I usually won't purchase anything unless I get the opinions from everyone here. Thanks to everyone!
after riding my rtx I will never ride my attak again and its for sale.

fireman,
I rode the Phazer, and hated it, then last winter I rode the Nitro. I would never buy either, I wouldn't ride if they were the only machines available. I also feel the same way about the new Doos. I rode a Renagade last week, and it reminded me of the Nitro. I was hoping that those that bought a Nitro would have a chance to ride one. I was very happy to get off both sleds, and back on my Apex, which I love.
There are riders that will like the Nitro, and Doo, but not me.

not to knock anybody or their choices....but to me the attak is a more mature ride...kind of like a sport sedan vs a gt coupe...

If there is one thing I learned from this experience is that they don't make a perfect sled for every riding style. Again, I liked the nytro and think it's one of the best sleds yamaha has made to date but as I got older my riding style started to tame down a bit. I still love to ditch bang but not all day long. Sometimes it's nice to just put on some miles on a groomed trail. I think that the attak is geared more toward that. Besides, it was hard to find anyone to ride with that could keep up. haha. Thanks for the comments.
the atak is exactly what yami says, a true groomed trail sled which I don't do much of. The nytro is lighter and feels 100 lbs lighter. My legs are sore as heck after my 1st ride and it is cold to ride.

1st ride on my nytro i kept thinking...aw man; what did i do? I want my attak back.It is a total relearning curve on riding this sled. After 250 miles now I really appreciate what it is. The suspension & motor is loosening it up & top end is really starting to come alive. It ain,t no where near as comfortable riding position as the attak but it really soaks up the bumps & handles well.
turk, that is funny you say that. The 1st time I rode the rtx I knew it was for me. Felt just like a ditch banging sled should. Don't get me wrong, I luv my attak for a chopped up groom trail nothing I have ridden rides better in those conditions.
