They worked OK on my Arctic Cat ZL600 with the 1 1/4" track I installed.

I tried them again on an 800 Ski-Doo Renegade and replaced them with real studs after I lost a couple.

I advised a friend not to use them on his MXZ 800 but he did anyway. We raced down Portage Lake in Northern Maine one day & it's a good thing I beat him. The only one he had left was sticking through his snowflap. The cooler took a major beating! Could have been my visor!

You need real studs on high HP sleds or high speed running.

Just out of curiosity, did any one that had issues with them have enough of them in?

From their site for 121" track:

580 - 600 CC 4 168 to 192
650 - 700 CC 5 216 to 240
750 - 800 CC 6 264 to 288

96 Trail Grabbers have been successfully used on a V-Max 600 that was ridden while sightseeing with occasional wide open throttle while lake crossings. We recommend 192 Trail Grabbers for that machine, however some riders with more aggressive thumbs have used as many as 384 Trail Grabbers. You have to be realistic in your evaluation of your riding style. If you do not have enough Trail Grabbers, you will over power them and you will experience losses, just as you would with standard studs. If you see bulges in the back of the lugs, you are riding too hard for the number of Trail Grabbers. Add 96 more, and if necessary relocate the bulging Trail Grabbers.

Just wondering if it was an application error rather then a poor product. I have a friend that swears by these on and 800cc switchback poo, that rides extremely aggressively that has never lost one.

If you drive agressivly, I am not sure I would run them but I have 240 of them in my 2 up Venture and they are working great!!! just enought to keep it from sliding in the corners.. but remember this is a 2 up and driven gently...

I may not have had enough for maximum traction. I used 216 on my 800 with a 136" track. However, I don't think that makes any difference if they are getting thrown out because of high speed running.
