truck ramp set up?

I use a ramp called the Lock and Roll Ramp...made by a local fellow. It's all aluminum and has a balance point figured out so that it takes no effort to lift the sled into the bed of the truck...just rolls in very gently and weighs about 75lbs....installs in seconds so you can still have full use of the bed if needed. I'll try to get pics of it.

What ever happened too using a good old snowbank or a ditch to load your sled in the back of your truck. I still use that instead of the trailer from tie to time

Can't always find a convenient snow bank and hate to rely on one.

Looking at doing an slight mod to my ramp to make it lighter and slide easier. Shadow any pics yet?

Not sure if this company is still making them. A lot of info on their site has been removed, including a video showing a sled being loaded/unloaded. Their site says it's for sale at 1700 bucks. Pricey I know, but it looks nicely made. Not sure if it's okay to post a link here, so I won't. Search the web for the OEM (Full Lotus Metals) and you'll find it.

truck ramps

Does anyone have a prob with the nose of your sled being higher than the truck box? Few years ago built something similar when i was in a situation with heavy duty breaking and a slight bump nose popped out back window it was 37 below, really sucked . Loading was great but window was expensive. Would build another if nose is lower than box.

Here is my loading ramp. Works well.
Back a lot of years I built this loading ramp. Makes loading a sled in a 6 1/2' or 8' box very easy. Light enough that one person can carry it. Everything is adjustable for different trucks or sleds with different width skis.
Remove endgate, ramp fastens and balances on endgate mounts.
Sled can be locked to ramp and ramp locked to truck.
Pull out ramp slide, as you drive up the ramp slide the outside rails lift/carry the skis on the inside 1/2 with the carbide not touching. At 1/2 way on the skis transfer onto the rails that lift/carry the outside of the skis.
Just before fully on the track climbs onto the track deck that lifts the track/sled enough so ramp can be slid in under the sled without catching track. I've built the track deck several different heights to accomodate deep lug tracks.
As sled approaches being fully on the ramp main part tilts, settling in truck and lifting the slide out part,it's light. Push in sliding ramp, fasten chain trough track and ramp, add lock and drive away.
With reverse unlock and unload in reverse order.
Without reverse unlock, pull sled back about 2' by hand. Pullout ramp about 1/2 way or a little more, push end of ramp to ground and sled will slide off, don't get run over.

The pics are in order as you would load.

Can, Can't open without login? register?
Anyway here is an update to my ramp. Took one of the 4 2x8's off now only 3 added full lenght track on ramp works much better and is a little lighter. Also added couple of quick connect chains to hold ramp in place when loading. Used to strap to tow hitch( hard to not get knee wet or muddy some days). Little improvemnts making things much easier!
( Turkster) My Skies hit my box before my bumper so bumper is not an issue so far?
Blue ;)!
