Not sure if you guys had already confirmed this or not, but this was in this month's email newsletter from Maximumsled.com:

"Yamaha shows final design for Apex trunk

We just received a photo of the final design for Yamaha's Apex seat trunk flap. The original prototype units, which were never meant as the final design, had a piece of hard plastic for a trunk lid, causing much concern among our test staff and consumers alike. However, Yamaha officials assure us that the new flap design will be just as comfortable as its other seats."

My email did not show a picture - not sure if it was an error with my browser/email or the newsletter itself.

I sent the newsletter to my home PC - and the picture showed up.

Thank you for the post and picture.

Hmmmmmmm! that is exactly what MrSled told them he wanted

Lets hope he tells them he wants the 160 HP watercraft motor for next year LaLaLa

Dont complain anythings better than nothing. I have seen the prototypes. Storage space was a welcome sight. No problem putting a quart, jumper cables & rope???(why do you need one except for your buddies sled)

It is pretty big actually, like 3 or 4 6" subway sandwitches If I remember correctly, wow that was 6-7 monts ago already.

The proto lid was kinda cheesy.

The intial flap was designed to raise with speed to work as a spoiler which is why it had to be ridgid. Apparently vanity (looks) won out over function. Remember that guys when you're flying across the lake thinking about that cool wing you coulda had to keep your #*$&@ planted :moon:
