After looking at the carbides that my 16 ltx le comes with, I realize why so many complain about lack of grip or push. There's is hardly any carbide on the runners.
What's the best bet for me when it comes to aftermarket runners. I run groomed trail . I was thinking snow trackers might be a bit too much, they where the answer on my apex but I'm new to vipers.

No EPS on the viper ,lol the snowtracker will make the direction feel realy heavy!

I have the Stud boy shaper 6 inside and OEM round 3 /4 outside. Great on groomed /packed but have to admit push in loose or deep.
Since I am 98% groomed I like them

I ran the stock Yamaha Carbides with 6" on the inside and 4" on the outside last year, and loved it on the hardpacked trails. Some push in the soft stuff though.
Was thinking of running 6" and 6" this year to tighten it up a bit.
Was also thinking of coming up 1 notch on the strap to out a bit more on the front.

Right on. Maybe I'll give the stock a try then. I'm running mostly hard packed.I ran the stock Yamaha Carbides with 6" on the inside and 4" on the outside last year, and loved it on the hardpacked trails. Some push in the soft stuff though.

I just have no faith in have no carbide on the outside. New too me.
So you want to plant the skis a bit more with the strap?

The reason I ask is that I have the trail turbo, and I don't want wheelies either. Nothing worse then hammering out of a turn and all the pickup is waisted when the sled wheelies.Yeah. I don't need to wheelie my sled.

I ran my LTX DX for 2,000 miles last year with the 6" shapers on the inside, and the stock Yamaha 4" carbides on the outside. The Shapers were an improvement over stock, but I still got some push and some darting. I have gone with aftermarket skis (Mohawks) for this year, and hope they will solve all the issues! You have the round one with no carbide at all on the outside?

I just went on the Stud boy site and they do not even list the viper at all for the shaper bars. I found some on ebay but how do I know for sure they will fit the 2015 tuner ski.

The Stud Boy site lists the Yamaha "SRV/ DX / LTX LE/ SE / RTX SE / XTX SE 2015-16 YAM-S2524-" Rich Motorsports sells them as "YAM-S2524-60" for the 6", and Y"AM-S2524-45" for the 4.5".
Thanks thought so but was not sure going to try the 7.5" on Ebay for $95 with free shipping and no tax. I want to give the ski a good try before I Put Mohawks on it.
