I was looking at my new RX-1 yesterday and I noticed that there isn't a lot of clearance in the tunnel for the track to spin through. I also feel a little weary about the open exhaust. The pipes seem too exposed in the tunnel. Shouldn't they have some kind of plate over the pipes instead of leaving them open in between the tunnel protectors? Has anyone had any problems with this? I am going to be studding it soon so I thought I would ask just in case anyone has any recomendations...or maybe I am being paranoid.

I had n 03 with that piece of shi$$ pipe guard in it. I was well studded with 192picks. the thing rattled for about 1500mi till one day i heard a big clang and it was gone. I put another 3000 mi on it before I traded it. No problems at all running without it. I think thats why they removed it. Everybody had the problem and most removed it with no problem.

I agree with RedRX1 my 03 sounds like a rattle trap when idling and thats after my dealer re riveted it. The 05 on the other hand has a little dash vibration but thats it :D next time i have the skid out on the 03 i'll be ripping out the shields. I believe they pulled them on the 04 models also.

I had a problem of the backplate of the stud hitting the shock with weigh on. But I had put a stud in the center of the track following a Woody trail template. Had to remove those. Even without studding, with weigh on my 05 mono shock rubs the center of the track. I have the dealer looking into getting a larger idlier wheel for up top which I think will take care of that problem. :?

I wonder if the track rubbing on the shock spring contributes to the track noise? On mine the wear pattern on the track shows clearly that it hits the track once every track pitch. There is no wear where it bounces off.

Mine is still painfully load (gives me a headache) at certain speeds.
