Tunnel Extension kit - does anyone sell them?

Hi,

I am planning to stretch my 08 RTX out to a 144 but I can't seem to find any tunnel extension kits. Normally Tracks USA has kits that include both the rail and tunnel extensions but for the Phazer it seems to be rail extensions only. I have also looked at SledWerx here in Canada and Royal Distributing. In most of the threads on stretching Phazers it seems that guys have fabricated something themselves.

Any guidance on tunnel extensions and the best rear bumper/grab bar options would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Extension

I looked around a couple of years ago and couldn't find anyone. Talked to Mr. Hartman and told him I might have to make a new plate and extend the bumper. He said that's was my best option, as no one makes an extension for a Phazer. It was cheap, easy and she gets more people commenting and looking at hers than my ole common Nytro

Thanks. I guess that might be my path forward. IT does look like the MTX bar would bolt right on and that would mean just having to source the aluminum plate to fill the gap

The MTX bumper bolts right onto your shorty. If you havent seen my thread on my RTX 144" stretch see below. I chose to go the simply way with the extension and just use a flat sheet on top of the tunnel. It worked great until I got too aggresive with the ratchet strap when tying down the rear bumper in the trailer. I cracked the GYTR bumper just rear of tunnel mounting bolts. If you use a stock MTX rear bumper it might be stronger than the GYTR one. Other than that, you could lift and move the rear of the sled around by the bumper until I cracked it.

Hey Gone Blue,

It was actually your thread and one other one that convinced me I wanted to go with the 144. I just spoke to the local Yamaha dealer hear and the MTX rear bar is $320 CDN so its a bit steep. Canoehead who responded above went to a 136 by extending the stock short bumper. I think that is the route I will go. Can I ask a favour of you? Can you tell me the total length of the bumper that you put on for your 144. That will tell me how much I would need to extend my stock RTW bumper (will send a PM as well)

Thanks very much
