i am tryting to remove the tunnel protectors on my attack. the skid is still in, i have taken the seat and tank off and drilled out all the rivets i can see. they seem to still be attached at the front somehow. is there a trick to this or do i have toi remove the skid. thanks

Ive heard of people doing this with the skid in. But I would suggest removing it. If your removing everything then you need to drop the skid so you can grind the protectors off the front exchanger.

The front mounts for the tunnel protectors are a challenge no matter which way you attack them, from underneath or on top.

What I did was remove the 4 header pipes and popped off two of the front rivets holding the lower heat shield/shroud to the machine. I lifted up the lower heat shield enough to get a cold chisel on the two tunnel protector rivets and chiseled them off. Doesn't take much to shear the rivets off then the tunnel protector assembly falls right out.
Replace the two rivets in the lower heat shield and button her back up.
