who has installed these and what is there exact purpose for these. Was this an answer to the tunnel bending issue people had. or another reason. anyone with that knowledge if you could explain it would be mint.
I am extending my track and tunnel and would like some insurance for the longer tunnel since i will be using it for a luggage/gas can rack also.

The 07 RTX has the same tunnel reinforcements as the 06 RTX (at least they look the same - could be different materials).
It's the 07 GT that has the extra tunnel reinforcements. The plates for it are a rivit on option for any monoshock skid, but to install them on an 07 RTX I'm fairly sure they need to be modified.
Since you've got the 06, pick up the plates for the 07 GT if you like. Do a search on plate and my name and you should find what your looking for (part #'s, etc.).
