My apex runs well all the way through the power band and at full throttle, but after a few seconds at full throttle it falls flat on its face. The AFR reads lean when this happens but it could just be unburned fuel from the motor stalling.
It has new plugs gapped at .018.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

How much boost are you runnign when it happens?
Try to watch the the AFR as you ease into WOT to try to see if it is gradually going lean from running out of fuel or it goes lean instantaneously from a misfire.

More info on Your sled and turbo system, boost Level, fuel pump etc. Your fuel pump may not be up to the task and the engine is starved for fuel.

It's the impulse race kit with a 3071, water to air intercooler, boost it fuel controller, built motor. It does it at every boost level from 13lbs to 20. It goes lean suddenly, the AFR is in the low tens at wide open until it bogs.

Low 10's is a little rich, a sudden bog could be too much fuel but symptom is usually blubbering and sputtering...mike g said:It's the impulse race kit with a 3071, water to air intercooler, boost it fuel controller, built motor. X2 on what mbarryracing says.
You're in the low tens-
Your are running pig Rich.
The engine stalls and falls on it's face.
Plugs cannot keep the spark going.
Engine misfires and pumps unburnt fuel into the exhaust.
That will show up as a lean condition on Your AFR meter.
You are suppoed to run at 11.8-12.0 AFRs at WOT.

So it bogs with an AFR of 11.5 and not lean? That sounds like clutching / primary clutch final shiftout pulling the motor down...
