Difference might be the zinc plating? I would hesitate to use zinc plated fasteners in this location (turbo). If you want to change them, try to use either stainless steel (has no plating) or grade 8 (again, no plating). Make sure to use copper-based anti-seize rather than nickel.

Will try to pick up SS and write these ones off. I was sure the Nickel was the preferred anti-seize??? This is the furthest I have ever been into a sled (track change). Learned a lot but info on here has been critical.

Yes Nickel is probably the best with a little higher heat range, but copper is a fairly close second. I've used copper the last couple of years with no problem running stainless bolts. I also only torque them to 15ish, and the ones you can't get a torque wrench on, to gudentight...lol

I used nickel last time but I might try something different this time. The nickel turned into black powder and bolts were still kinda tough to remove but at least they weren't seized. IDK.Will try to pick up SS and write these ones off. I was sure the Nickel was the preferred anti-seize??? This is the furthest I have ever been into a sled (track change). If you check out internet and do some reading, for turbo, exhaust, muffler applications, most say to use copper-based.

I’ve tried both. First was the copper because it’s attainable at any parts store, but does not work at all!
Had to order the nickel, that works much better.

Nickel is what you want, that turbo and exhaust gets really hot. How hot? Well the turbo cast will not turn red but the exhaust on both sides will!!

Nickel stuff from crappy tire works great for me....highest temp I could find.
Always use SS bolts and SS lockwashers, no need to lay into the torque too much either. They all remove very nicely everytime Ive removed muffler, and I also am anal so I replace the bolts each time.

Those are the bolts I've been using since the fall of 2016. No issues with them at all.Going to try to get to a Fastenal and see what I can get. Bought these as Canadian Tire.

Don't use stainless there going to break,just use high temp never sieze and buy a short torque bit to use on a wrenchSo, I bought these bolts and washers reinstall the muffler. They dont seem to want to go in and I dont want to force things and screw up the turbo. The stock bolts go in without issue. I am missing something?

Steel bolts will rust and seize.
