Hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question but is there currently a turbo kit that still utilitizes the dual exhaust of the RX-1? If not, why couldn't you still maintain the stock header or some modified version of it that still exits out both ports? One of the "sealed the deal" items when purchasing my RX-1 was that sweet dual exhaust exiting out the rear of the sled. Other than being weight conscientious, are there any other reasons why the turbo kits do away with the stock dual exhaust or only use on side of the exhaust?

I think the front mount units still use the two pipes out back

Now, not all front mounts use the stock dual exhaust, right? I thought there were a few front mounts that had the exhaust exiting out the bottom of the belly pan (ie. Lightning Pro) or ones that only used one side of the dual exhaust (ie. Bender). Which front mount kits still maintain the use of the stock dual exhaust?

The front mount MC Express unit uses the stock exaust

So does the Tison front mount, also I do believe that Jeff's (Simon's CPR)kit uses the stock exhaust.

Thanks guys for the info. I love the idea of looking totally stock but yet have a turbo under the hood. :4STroke:

I guess I was just the under the impression after hearing about a few other kits, that they did away with the stock exhaust or only used on side. It may be a while before I make the big leap but at this rate, I'm eliminating one excuse after the other. :o| :o| :o|

our kit uses the stk exhaust and is totally undectable when the hood is closed, it is actually alittle quiter than stock. jeff

Any issues with running an aftermarket exhaust with a front mount turbo kit that still utilitizes the dual exhaust design? I recently purchased a Whiteknuckle QC-1 exhaust and would hate to not be able to use it. I suppose if this is a non-issue, then there goes another excuse. :exc:

aftermarket exhaust will work fine, and should make around 7-8 extra hp. jeff

spray25, more is better right, lol. we just got off the dyno with our new simons cpr open mod turbo kit for those who want more. it is over 4 times the power increase of our production rx-1 trail turbo that ran 9.38 sec. et in the 1/4 mile at 134.5 mph. with the new open mod turbo in a stock rx-1 sled, i think we'll be talking low 8s at 170+ mph. you gotta love turbos!!!!!! lol. jeff

How about "4 Stroke Turbos Rule!"?

I am going to run the White Knuckle Gp exhaust on my McXpress front mount. Phil has already run it on his.
