Turbo Four stroke 3 cyl 1200

big john with sled head racing already blew his up 3 weeks ago at a dootalk ride in bear lake utah. I was suppose to race him but that never happened

theres one here in sakatchewan with a full power on thats in a million pieces. he was having problems making good power till he put on justins recommended exhaust then it went like hell. till the motor grenaded. dont know all the details vbut it sounds like it dropped a valve.

As soon as you hook the sled up, the primary will break or crack. If you put a 4pro or billet primary on, the secondary will break. If you put a team secondary on it, the jack shaft will break at the spline. Its barely welded, it has 4 tack welds. If you replace the jack shaft with a real one and run a billet primary and a good secondary, the chassis will flex so much you will blow belts by the dozen. After you figure out how to keep the clutches aligned with added bracing and arms, the drive shaft will break behind the chain case. Having fun yet? The turbos work fine, the chassis is the weak link.

Classic.

The race trailer pulled in from Hill City yesterday and the 440 Doo got it's customary post snow-x weekend inspection.

The tally:

Both rails cracked
rear scissor bolts bent
rear heat exchanger rivets popped out
tunnel protectors loose
tunnel flexed at drive shaft - bearing cup distorted
both front shock supports cracked
Nun cracked or bent in several places
Front pan support cracked

That's a partial list off the top of my head, I know there is more. This is the sled that WON both the Saturday and Sunday final this week-end at Park X - he's a smooth rider...

There is a price to be paid for weight savings.

Mr. Pump Gas, how did that Z1 turn out? How is it your agaist the little Nytro in 1000foot?

Did everyone know that a Yamaha Nytro Engine is ~20lbs lighter then a Rotax 1200 engine?
That means that Ski-Doo chassi is ~60lbs lighter then the Nytro chassi, if i compare the weights that Maxsled announced a couple of weeks ago!
According to them a Ski-Doo TNT1200 weighted 556lbs w 7gal fuel, and a Nytro RTX SE w. 7gal fuel ~597lbs, it was the most comparable i could find.
597-556+20=61lbs difference in chassi weight.
Yeah, Yamaha is heavy, maybe to heavy as many of us change drop down brackets, seats, skids, and so on, but no one can say that they are weak :).

haha this is funny! Whats it make on the dyno??? Cause it sure dont work in the mountains! LOL Mabey it can be a dyno sheet racer! Its breakin at 12lbs boost. :moon:

I like the idea of some competition from another mfg, but from what I have seen it aint gona be skidoo for awhile. At least not on a regular basis, got spare parts truck??? I bet someone will put the doo motor in a yami chassis and fit it with a yami primary. Then it will prob work good. :yam:

I cant wait till the rear mount nitro turbo guys talk about the response the doo will have, cause it is a frount mount! LMAO :tg:

No dyno sheet racing just having fun with some Yamaha Turbo guys!
Very smooth power and only running 7600 - 7800 RPM as they had a new clutch that really work great.
