I have a hurricane viper turbo kit and it seems pretty straight forward to install but I have never done anything like this before and I am nervous. I want to do the install myself to be familiar with the setup but a install video from a more experienced enthusiast or even a vid outlining the steps of a already installed kit would be really appreciated .thanks

Ya, it's nice to install it yourself. But if a shop does it and messes something up they are responsible for it. If you do your screwed. I haven't seen any videos on the install for the Hurricane turbo. They say it's suppose to be simple. I don't get it , but I guess it's possible. Don't forget your gauges!!

That's why a lot of shops do not want to install them , for comments like that , it's always the shops problem if something happens !
So a guy takes( his or hers ) sled home talks to a buddies buddy and say oh go online and do this and that and run more boost , I have been for 2 weeks and haven't had a problem , so he does it and 4weeks later boom , oh no now what do I do , his buddy says put it back to the way it was and that it back to the shop that installed it and let them deal with it !!!!!!
Seen it a 1000 times , and sucks for the shop !!!! Just saying !!!!!

Lol...I'm not saying screw the dealer over! I'm simply saying that if they do the instal it will more than likely be done right and with no issues. More so now because they have probably done a few by now! If you do it your self you don't really know the tricks and stuff. Where to route wires, hoses etc. I know it cost more, but piece of mind is a huge thing! But if something where to fail or break down, now you have your dealer to fall back on. And since they installed it they know how they put it together and it will be easier for them to find the issue. And it should be done for free, unless it was something else wrong with it. Besides the actual install. Not have them install it turn the boost to 800 pounds blow the motor then put the boost back to 6 pounds and say to the dealer, hey this is your fault fix it.

I do not live anywhere near the place I bought the kit from I would love them to install it. It seems though all these kits come with instruction to install them but one good video would insure proper installation and less problems with with the product I do not wish to modify the product just install it how the manufacturer want it installed.

Oh right on... Well I guess ignore my last...lol...I suppose once you get it apart and put it back together, while labeling everything and making sure it's put back the same way, you should be fine. Keep the parts close together and don't lose anything. And try not to end up with one extra bolt..lol... Wish I could help better. I looked for a video, and couldn't find anything. I'll keep looking.

I ALWAYS like doing these things myself...that way if a problem arises you have first hand knowledge of what is going on and what direction to take. But I am also an Auto Tech so theses things don't intimidate me.

Definitely can't be intimidated! Just go out and do it!!

U mind me asking where you're located? Might not be a bad idea to talk with the turbo manufacturer and see if they have anyone near you that is a dealer of their product that you can have install it. I know me personally I do not want to do the install on mine but my dealer will have no problem with me being there watching it done and having them explain to me some of the finer points of what I should be on the look out for.

Good point stud roes I live in Newfoundland Canada and have really good relationship with my yamaha dealer . The Hurricane Performance is where I bought my turbo kit and Dave the owner is awesome to deal with but he does not have a dealer or installer in the province . I just thought with so many of these kits being sold when they were discounted for spring someone with some experience might like the face time on camera to help out the little guy.this kit in particular does seem fairly easy to install with little to no plumbing to reroute.

I will try to take a vidio when we install mine but it might be a wile im supper busy and still have the supercharged phazer apart

Sounds good rob thinking of waiting until sept hopefully after a viper reflash thanks for the reply

If there is any reflash coming out for the viper it would be something that I wouldn't jump on right away with a turbo. I think it'd just be a better bet to let some testing go on first rather than doing a turbo with an ecu that isn't really setup for it. Granted there wasn't any ecu issues with boosted yammis in the past but a reflash specific for a boosted sled will be much more beneficial in performance and reliability.
