rx1 trail sled wins at anchor bay
lickety split on 2/21/2004 12:11:39 PM
I watched a red rx1 turbo, last saturday and sunday 14,15,owned by phill beat up on all those hot mod thundercats 1107s,f7s,and zr900,he blew by all of them big time I watched it happen time and time again,he was always the first on over the line, not bad for a trail sled, yes he can trail this sled anythime he wants, with regular fuel and low boost adjustable from the dash ,the only thing he changes is studs ,what happened to all those big braggers with their cats that flapped all last year about wipping the rx1s,they must be hiding in the weeds, the only sleds that could keep up with him were full mod light weight sleds, with wahl suspensions and a light weight track that looked like 3 rubber bands and some cleats on it,lets see you trail that thing with a full blown motor and 2" of suspension.its funny those hot dog trail sleds get their #*$&@ wipped all day and you don''t hear a thing about it.Yes he went back this weekend for more fun.Good job phill.

Phil's sled run's real good, but you must of missed a few races that day.

BIG DEAL
Most sled's will run a lot better under artificial asspiration.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
goodfella on 2/21/2004 4:26:24 PM
What distance were they running??

The funny thing is that it has the trail manners of grandpa until you exercise the thumb..oh, and it's quieter than a stock RX-1. Revtax, what ''TRAIL'' sleds run better under artificial aspiration. NOS..not!! 2 stroke turbo..NOT!! without adding noise..NOT!!

First of all, that sled runs well for an rx-1. My sled kicked the snot piss out of that thing and it is a TRAIL SLED!!! It is a zr with a 1000 triple in it running 130lbs of compression, stock carbs and full suspension. I know of four or five ''Trail Sleds'' out there that also kicked its #*$&@, two of which are TWINS!!! Don't get me wrong, that sled runs well for an RX-1 but not well enough. We will be out there this weekend as well if you think I am mistaken.

I think there will be racing out there on Sunday. I do believe you will be able to drive truck and trailer out there as well. I will be out there by 11am on sunday. If you would like, you can call me and I can let you know how the ice is. Thanks Jason Thatguyracing 586-615-5428

thatguyracing,I think you are on the wrong track I never heard of zr with a triple 1000 in it,sounds like a FULLMOD to me,you should take it over to the mod racing track with the big boys, where you belong, and we will really see how much snot piss you got left.

BUY MY SLED! It will probably smoke yours! LOL
And turbocharging isn't considered a major mod? lol......goof. I would be willing to bet a 325hp MachZ (turbocharged & trail ridable, son!) would give that RX-1 FAR more that it could handle on any given day.

Lets see him run that thing on the trail all day at full boost on pump gas then race. Ask MR Blonshine what happens with too much boost and pump gas!

Well guys how did phill do yesterday and today?Phill works very hard on his sled,He puts lot of time and heart in it,I just want to hear the real story, right chris and thatguyracine, I know you guys also work hard on your sleds and have a lot of class.

Lickety split...I don't know if you were on the ice today and met me or not. If so, then you know that my sled is a ZR twin chassis with a t-cat 1000 in it. It is very much a trail sled...full suspension, stock 38mm carbs not even bored, trail D&D pipes spinning at 8500 rpm's and running on 93 octane all day long pass after pass. It is FAR FAR away from a full mod sled.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As far as Phils sled goes....I am thoroughly impressed. That setup is one of the nicest set ups I have seen in a long time and I am sure he has spent a lot of time on the install and set up. I HAVE NEVER BEEN BEATEN SO BADLY IN MY LIFE!!!!!!! This 1000 of mine runs very very well for what it is and is a very respectful sled out there on the Anchor Bay trail track, but that RX-1 simply flies. I feel he has every right in the world to be on the trail track with that sled because it is a true trail sled. I also believe he should run on the fast track because that sled is SO FK'N FAST!!!!!
Very nice sled Phil, and WOW is all I can say.
Nice meeting you guys out there today. Thatguyracing

All i have to say is, I have never seen a RX-1 run, i would love to see it run, i run a zr900 that runs about 130 in 2000ft? What kinda speeds are u turning with the rx1? And umm yea a twin chasis with a 1000 tripple is no where near a ''mod'' sled..Where did that come from, i know a bunch of guys with that set up for the trail...So i dont know..And like everyone else said, he cant run full boost in the trail can he? and if he does, u still cant trail ride army tanks...HAHAHA...That things a pig in the trail stock or not, it's a land yacht...

Winter Man: Ya Scott ran 15 pounds all day before he had problems. He makes about 260hp on that ammount of boost. I think it's pretty impressive that the Motor held together as long as it did under that kind of boost!!!!!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
lickety split on 2/23/2004 9:20:13 AM
Hey badasszr800,you are just a little short with your times, this rx1 runs 111 mph at 660'at the isr world series and took 1st place, that would put you about 10 sleds behind, and yes he trails it all day long, the boost comes on at 7500,and engages at 3200 rpms, most of the trail riding is below 7500 rpms 60 mph or he can run it at 5 pounds of boost 190 hp on the trail or he can flick the switch on high boost about 14# 250 hp on preminum fuel. He only uses it above 7500 rpms to run by 190hp sleds like yours,he also uses half of the fuel you use,too bad artic cat fell asleep with their four stroke.Do you have electric and reverse?

If this guy wanted to be a little bit of a dink, he should install a Seat-Jack when he goes racing. If he wanted to be a real arse hole, he could take a passenger when he smokes some of these guys

It takes badassz 2000' to get to 130  , phils will do it in 1000 feet. I know because mine has and I am sure his is a little faster.
