I am sure this has been asked before but here it is again

What are the pros and cons between the super and turbo chargers? I have friends running MCX 180, 240 and 300hp kits. I'm not sure I want to follow in there tracks or forge a head in another direction.

Hears is what I've heard about each
TURBO:

lag as a pro and a con able to ride as stock at low speeds and a con when you get into it there is a hesitation.

VERY reliable

no worries about tuning for altitude and wheather changes

SUPER:

smooth power ban

easy to up grade (pully change)

difficult to tune for altitude and weather changes.

CAN anyone add to either list?

AM I CLOSE with any of those statements? I would be going for the small hp kit. If I even go that route might just leave it NA

A dealer near me has a super and wishes it would blow up so he could justify another biuld and go turbo.

WHAT TO DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o|

Depends on where and how you ride?
Superchargers are better (in my opinion) for trail use and everyday fun because of the quick throttle response, and lower end power increase. The boost is always there.

Turbos are better for high altitude, and for certain racing aplications, but tend to have a few more issues with heat (depending on the kit).

Either way, it's a matter of preference, as you can set up either system to work well in different conditions.

I have heard MPI is working on, and I'd bet someone probably has, and auto tune feature to help take the guess work and constant adjustments away. Both will need clutching adjustments for trail vs. mountain or altitude anyway. Thats moer of an issue of how and at what rate the engine puts the power to the ground.
