I've been aquiring the parts to put together a turbo kit and as they come in I'm surprised how much the weight is adding up to. I was just wondering what guys kits weigh in total and net (after removal of stock parts net to the sled).
Thanks

I removed all the exhaust parts and they where 28 lbs put front mount in with no exhaust just dumped it in front of tunnel, didn,t wiegh the turbo kit but I think it was about the same as what I took out so no wieght gain.

I agree with Snowy1. Took out the 21lb. muffler and dropped in rear mount turbo package, about 22 lbs. Airbox got swapped out for intercooler, about a lb heavier there. Charge tube and extras were a few lbs more. More than acceptable for the 100+ HP gain!

Yes that is a BIG plus for a rear mount!

I've already got an 8 lb exhaust on it which will go when the turbo goes on, the airbox is gone also. My NOS kit is about 8lbs full so I'm thinking I'll be gaining about 15 lbs over where I am now if I don't keep the NOS. I was just curious what my wet weight will be when its done. I agree its a good trade off for the power.

My complete turbo with the exhaust weighs about 28#. It's a front mount and by cutting the notch out of the tank and holding only 8.5 gal I cut out another 10# off the wet weight but I took off 34# by scrapping the complete exhaust so by my figures it's actually lost 16#. Wet weight when I got it was 715 so now it's under 700 . Looks like I've got a long way to go on this thing, Ken.
