I wanted to give everyone a heads up on some new ideas we are trying for the rides. Since these rides are getting so large and it is so tough to keep 50+ sleds together on the trail we are starting some new ideas this year.
We are going to have riders meetings/ meet and greet each night and give members different riding options to help keep the rides smaller and in control. These groups will be determined at each evening meeting and if you happen to miss the meeting because of dinner or you may still be out riding, We will have a Dry erase board posted in the lobby with all of the information posted.
here are some examples......
>Mr. sled will be taking a group on the grand Marais/ Seney trail loop riding trails, this will be a moderate to fast paced ride putting on approximately 150 miles. We will leave the hotel at 9 am go to Bear trap for breakfast and be back at the hotel in the early evening.
> sleddheadd will take a group off trail running forest roads and other trails, We will ride near the hotel, eat breakfast at the hotel and leave the parking lot by the center door of the hotel at 9:30 am, We could do anywhere between 100 and 150 miles and the pace will be a little slower because of the trails we will be on.
> Kurt is going to do a high speed trail run to Paradice and back, leaving hotel at 8 am and returning early evening. expect to put on 300 miles for this group
> Frogg will be trailering to Kingston Plains area and be riding strictly off trasil Boondocking, Long tracks are suggested and plan on bringing a lunch with you, probably stopping for breakfast at Bear trap.
There may be other options depending on the size of our groups but this is the general idea. We will have flyers on all of the doors of the hotel as a friendly reminder of the meetings. we will also post the information on the rides section of TY for anyone trailering in from a different area, so that they will know when to be here and ready to ride.
Please!, if you are new just walk up and introduce yourself or ask for myself or Mr. Sled and I am sure someone will point you in the right direction! We want Everyone to feel welcome to join us and share in the TY ride experience! We look forward to meeting new friends and hanging out with all of our friends we have already made! We are expecting this to be one of the biggest rides we have had yet and it should be a Blast!

At 6:00 PM SHARP we would like to start the process of handing out tickets.
You must be a VIP Member to enter the drawings for the Door Prizes!!
And
You must be a Registered Member to BUY tickets for the Grand Prizes and Misc. Drawings!
Give-Away will start at 7:00 PM
We will have a small selection of extra ride shirts available for purchase, on a first come basis. Members who would like to sign up for VIP status may do so prior to 6:00 PM!!

DA*N..........I was going to "jump the gun" and put up a new thread about the Give-Away ride........... 
Oh well...........on the local rumor mill..........someone, as yet unnamed, is in negotiations to buy/reopen The Woodlands in Shingleton. No time frame specified but it was the same source who confirmed the earlier closure. FWIW!!!
I probably won't be around much next ride either.........this is what happens when you tell a best bud from SW FL that "anytime works for me" without consulting the calendar first.......we WILL however put in some appearances for the "evening festivities".......

My bud, Jerre (pronounced Jerry), has ridden numerous times before I just don't think he's going to be into the all-day point_A_to_point_B_like_your_tail_is_on_fire grind

yeah!...you'll want to see rockmeister and/or kurt for the 'night rides'. there may be 'others' but 'rock' for sure does some of those - you might not get back til 4am though - LOL!

If your going to do a late night ride, make sure you fill your tank ahead of time, and plan how many miles you'd like to ride, as refueling could be a concern. Not all gas stations are open real late. Rock has a GPS, and he'll make sure you don't get lost......LOL. My night riding is now great, since getting Kurt's HID Kit, they really make a big difference

I would take you up on the Dave, but I'd really like to make a little longer trip out of it!! I would like to be in Muni by midday Wednesday and come home Monday. If I can't find anyone to share a ride with, I may still stop and pick up you and Leno and get what I can!!! lol...

I am about 2 hours south of Chicago and go right through there on my way to Muni!!! I have a 2-place enclosed trailer, as well as a 4-place. I would like to know if anyone is interested heading up Wednesday morning and coming back Monday afternoon????
