2010 apex i am looking for what people run in the super tip weights i have ulmers clutch kit with air box and a 23 top gear i am think i dont have enought weight thanks

Tell us what you are experiencing and someone can help. I have my notes from Allen's kit when I ran it so I could compare. I assume you are running too high of RPM? Just out of the hole or on top end?

ya i have 3 washers in the heel and one in the toe the weights total were 65 grams i have added two more washers to the toe and now i have them at 68 g i was reving a little high last season i could just beat a stock apex for a second out of the hole and hang on in mid range but top end it would pull me hard. he is 40 pounds lighter but i have got work down i i cant be being beat by stockers 110mph on the gun on glair ice

I looked at my notes and your first setup is the same as what I ran. (With the assumption you mean 3 washers per side in the heel and 1 washer on one side in the tip. Allen is surely the best to help you, but he'll want to know what RPM you are pulling out of the hole and on top.

Also - The stock weights are hard to beat on the big end. With a 40lb lighter rider and the stock setup, I am not sure you are going to get aftermarket weights to stay ahead of him. In my experience on hard pack with a clutch kit it you are going to pull far enough ahead that a stocker doesn't catch you. If conditions aren't ideal though, you lose your advantage out of the hole and the stocker has better top end. That is just my .02.

I forgot you said 110 on glare ice. That is a little low. How many miles on your belt? I was at 113 with Ulmer's setup with a cobra track and 170 picks. on a railbed. (GPS)

i was a newer belt 100 miles ? if i remember correctly it would jump to 10,100 10,200 and shift out to 11000 ish. just a thought my stock weights are alot heavier should i not be able to run close to that in my super tips? and what did you run for weight in you set up ?

Charlie...is your track studded? The reason why I ask is I ran the 23 gear and Ulmer kit and traction was a battle. Heck...getting traction when stock was a battle.

Overall weight isn't a good comparison because the profile of the weight is different. I ran his initial recommendation which was close. If you are hitting 11K on top you can improve. I'd just get in contact with Allen and let him recommend a change to the weight placement.
