Installed my Ulmer kit today but with the super tips weights got a question I'm running 8 tooth drivers and 18,39 gears any one got a start point for weights???

Right now she is bouncing off the red line when I nipp her...

If you bought it from Ulmer directly, it should have been set up for you already. Otherwise, just give him a call or email and he can let you know what to change to fix it.

Should be set pretty close to the following:
- 1 titanium and 1 washer in heal
- 2 washers in mid
- 1 washer at tip

For mine, I am running the following with Carlile belt (softer) (shifting at 8700-8800 rpm)
- 1 titanium in heal
- empty mid
- empty tip

With stock belt (shifting at 9000)
- 1 titanium and 1 washer in heal
- empty mid
- empty tip

What is your rider weight, and im assuming your Nytro is stock.. With that low of a top gear you need to add weight to the heal. An additional two washers on the heal of the supertips should do the trick..

If you are hitting the rev limiter you will need to add weights to the tip (assuming the belt is not slipping). Add two weights to the tip and try it again.

For curiousity, what is your current setup on weights?

FYI, stock shifting rpm should be 8600rpm. The is peak hp for a stock Nytro. With a header you can bring it up a couple hundred rpm to about 8800.

Clutching

Hey guys,
I am in the process of setting up the clutching on my 180 turbo Nytro and saw this thread.

Currently my 08 RTX has stock gearing, 8 tooth wahl drivers, 136x15x1.75 track and Ulmer stage 2 clutch kit.

I'm 285lbs with gear and do Midwest trail riding/ditch banging with a few trips to the UP each year.

Looking for suggestions on a base line weight set up for the super tips.

Any help is appreciated.

I believe supertips come in two different weights. With a turbo you will need more weights (depending on your primary spring) to keep your revs down. I will give a call to Ulmer for that setup.

I know the N/A setup for Nytros because I have played around with them enough.

So I was out today and with the current set up on the clutch with one titanium washer on the heal she is not red lining no more rps is stopping at 8400 got loads of mid and high range but a little slow on the bottom end....
