I am thinking about purchasing the Ulmer Racing "Apex Trail Performer Package" that includes the air box mod, power comander III, ignition module, & Excell exhaust for $1500.
I am looking for positive and/or negative feedback from any of you with experience with any or all of these items. Thanks in advance for your help.

If you are looking for opinions here is mine. I have all those mods you listed along with a 40 tooth lower gear and I do not have a clutch kit. With the sled stock, I would get 104 MPH on the Dream Meter on the trail. With all my Mods I now get 119 MPH on the Dream Meter on the trail and the midrange has more pull then it use to also. I have never had it on ice with ideal conditions to get the true top end out of it but from what I now get on the trail and how it runs against the sleds I ride with (05 F7, 06 800 Rev, 01 SRX 700, 02 MXZ 800 and an 07 Gade 800) I can tell you that those mods made quite a performance difference. I had a low end stumble from the Excell but I have adjusted it out with the PCIII. It is now very responsive, the engine spools up a lot faster then it use to, more like a 2 stroke then it use to. My only gripe with the sled now is the engine braking, but that is something I can live with. I personally would recommend that Trail Performer Package. Good luck with your decision.

Thanks Iceman,
Great feeback! I am suprised that with all of those mods that you did not install Ulmer's clutch kit. I can tell you that my Ulmer stage II clutch kit really made a noticeable improvement and it reduced the engine braking as well.

Only 104 on the dreamo is pretty poor topend for a stock Apex. What conditions and how far did you run to only get that 104? My opinion, without more explanation from you, unless you made the changes in the same day running the same length and conditions, thats not a valid comparo.

Definetely worth the money and get the Jow Gibbs racing oil as well... My sled is an animal.... With the gearing I have in it, I can get 114 on my GPS on a Groomed trail and that was not the best condition... Onice I believe with gearing change, I can pull 120+ very easily and acclerate very hard... I have beaten many modded F1000's and Heavily modded F7's no Problem.. I have not been beat to many times... Most of the sleds I race against are not even close to stock...

Noticable difference on the trail.
One the exhaust makes it sound like your going mach 3 even at cruise
it sounds awesome. Even my died in the wool two stroke boys loved it. They all commented on it.
HUGE gains in mid throttle, rolling from the corner of a trail the thing is just gone. It eats up sleds in front of it like they were going backwards.
I cant comment on top end, never had it wide open for big gains.
There is a difference in fuel mileage though, although I havent had a full day of cruising. Its just very hard to stay off the flipper. You want to hear the exhaust and feel the mid range. I can say I use my brake now a helluva lot more than I did before.
The hardest part of install is the exhaust, that will take you an evening taking your time, relaxing. The clutch on the yammis is easy to change, the PCIII is pretty simple, the Ignition module will take about an hour. Its kind of a pain to run the wires......
NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE NOTE - on the ignition module the directions dont mention plugging it into the PCIII. But you have to

Thanks guys! I think that I am close to pulling the trigger on this but I am picking up an enclosed trailer today so I may have a hard time convincing the wife to let me spend more money right now. LOL!

i have the same mods as well and it is a huge difference compared to stock! i ran nitrous for the last 2 years and its like giving the sled a little squirt of spray through mid range, it obviously wont carry the top end like nos will but up until then i would really like to run them side by side (nos vs. ulmers package) i think it would be a very close race up to 100!

Nos vs Ulmer's package? !!!!!!

With track brutally ratcheting I ran 114mph (144 trail studs) in 1000 feet with Nitrous. On the motor in 2000 feet I ran 118mph.
