Anyone ever run an under tunnel exhaust on an XTX? Been looking at getting the skinz under tunnel exhaust for my 2013 XTX to maximize tunnel space for a gas caddy and extra storage. Wondering if this system can be ran with the stock seat, aswell as pros/cons about an under tunnel exhaust! Any information helps! Thanks!

I had a buddy that had an underslung exhaust of a different make on his XTX and he had HUGE icing problems. He was going to install the tunnel heat exchanger to help resolve the issue but ended up selling the sled before he got it installed. I know around where I ride the trail wardens watch very close to louder 4 stroke sleds. If they look factory they generally leave you alone, but anyone with a visual change like underslung exhaust they are always being pestered.

I heard they had icing problems, thats why im still hesitant and want to do research before ordering the kit, if not ill just get an aftermarket exhaust and add a 90 degree turnout.

To avoid most of the icing the exaust gas MUST exit outside the tunnel, not inside. you need to put a tail from the muffler to the back of the tunnel and make a 90 so the hot air will exit on the side.

So you would have to run a pipe to the end of the tunnel and make a 90 degree turnout? What could icing cause? im relatively new to snowmobiling, sorry for asking questions like these.

If you let the gas out in the tunnel, the icying will so bad that you're gonna have some ice build-up the size of a concrete block.

Thanks for the information, sounds like i might just end up going with a standard aftermarket exhaust.

I have a stock exhaust with a 90 degree turnout, but just looking for an aftermarket exhaust. Might get the MBRP and add the 90 degree turnout and add heat tape on the caddy for pièce of mind. Thanks.

Just check to see if you can actually install a turnout on the aftermarket pipe you buy. I have Hindle, and I can't see how you could properly install one that would be neat and tidy.

Thanks, i was looping at the hindle but i think it may be a bit to loud, one of my buddy's got the MBRP and he put a turnout and it looks fine to me, i do see what you say about the hindle though because of the way the tip is made on them there dosent seem to be a decent way to make one look half decent. Thanks for the help!!

Here's my set-up, i build an under the seat storage too. Now I got room to haul some stuff!

It's all custom made by me. I have some icing problems around the 2 upper big wheel, I need to clean the ice maybe twice a day, otherwise it's fine.
