I found a guy locally selling the stock pipe off of an R6 for $25, assuming I can make this fit, would this be too restrictive of a pipe to mount under tunnel on an Apex?

I'm trying to keep the noise level equal to the stock exhaust if at all possible.

What would you be gaining? The stock street bike stuff is pig heavy and its not going to flow any better, and likely won't give a better sound. I thought of doing the same with zx6 undertail stock exhaust. After looking at it and weighing it, I asked my self why in the world I want to go thru the hassle for no benefit. Just my .02

I just picked up a 05 r1 exhaust and it's really light.I'm going to run it undertunnel.

I'm not looking for any more power just to clean up the tunnel so i can use it and a little weight loss.

You have to get newer bike stock exhaust if you want it lite.
I too have got enough loud exhaust fines so need it quiet.I plan on riding in Wisconsin occasionally and there sticklers. The sled will be used mostly in Wyoming which isn't a big deal but don't want to take a chance at home.

Actually plans changed, just scored a scratched up RS-3 pipe for $100 shipped.....so will be going that route instead.

They do make a quiet core for the rs3.
