The three mounting tabs on my factory radiator broke off..

My YES coverage covered the radiator and this is what i got..

Its has alot heavier mounting tabs.... So i guess they knew there was a problem..

If you have this problem.. take it to the dealer.. My YES covered mine, along with the broken Y-pipes and donuts..

Welt in Michigan we cant find a trail this year that has enough bumps to break anything ! The trails
here have been sooooooo flat it is amazing !

Good job on the pic's and yes thats what
they should had on the sleds in the first place !

You must of been pounding it to break all that !

You do have twice as many miles on your sled than I do and Iam sure
alot more traffic in Wisconsin ! Or were you showing them other sleds that the GT stands for Get Tough ! LOL

it didnt start breaking till 5000 miles.. I think over time the aluminum gets bent back and forth so many times is becomes weak and finally fails..

It is great to see Yamaha finally fixing some of the known issues on these sleds.

Hopefully they'll fix the y-pipes and donuts next.

I haven't picked up my new rad yet. Hopefully it is the new one (if not, I'll ask them to send it back - even if I have to pay shipping).

Randy - you don't have to pound on them for the radiator mounts to break. I've talked to many high mileage Apex owners (as well as all the Apex owners I ride with) and even the guys who take it easy find their rads falling against the reverse mechanism by the time they get about 6000-7000 miles on.

If you ride it hard, they seem to break somewhere in the 5000-6000 mile range. It doesn't seem to make much difference how you ride.

I think this one will last.. Its pretty beefy.. the top bracket is all one piece..

Here is another pic of the new radator and its beefy upper mount..

There is also a picture of the old radiaor which i turned in for warranty and its WEAK mounts..
