Anyone have trouble getting upper a-arm bolts out? I got them loose and it seems they are out of the threads but it just sits there and spins. Tried prying and turning but no go. Thinking a slide hammer might work? Any ideas?

Its not stripped is it? I had my toe hold bolts do what you describe, spun easily and would not come out. Had to put a impact on it and crank the crap out it to back it out.

I don't think so...I can see that it's out of the threads on the back side. It turned out fine. not sure how I could've stripped it out but you never know I guess.

hmmmm weird....it might be caught on the spacer in there maybe? Is the weight off it? Maybe try a impact to back it out, worse case you will need a new bolt and run a tap through the treads. Just ideas.......

I had this same problem this weekend and it was odd. I felt like i was turning forever with my fingers because they seemed so loose but they finally came out. My best advice is to just keep turning them but if you are doing it for 5 minutes then i'd say something is up, and then I would stop listening to my advice.

Is there tension on the upper A arm? ie, shock connected, weight of assembly, etc.

It sounds like you have some corrosion between the spacer and bolt. Try tapping the bolt back in and restart it on the threads. Spray some penetrating oil down both side of the a-arm and run the bolt back and forth until it's free. If you have an impact and the head of the bolt moves out far enough you can slip an open end wrench over the bolt between the bolt head and subframe mount. Run the impact and use the wrench to help pull it out.

Anti seize compound is a mechanics best friend.

thanks for the tips guys...yes the weight is off, shocks are off, no pressure on the arm whatsoever. I tried threading back in and squirting some penetrating oil. I'll try some of your ideas tonight. thanks guys!

Keep trying as grizztracks suggests, it'll be a bit of a process to get it freed up. What ever you do, don't rush it.
