USI skis...any feedback ?

Thanks, I've talked to both Val and his dad before, their nice people to deal with. I'm glad they won their lawsuit with BRP. Nice to see the little guy get a fair shake for once! studdog

yeah tell me about it. They got boned but I think in the end they ended out laying some serious pipe if you know what I mean. I'll send you those pics 2night.

Why not post the pics? I'm expecting my new Simmons any day now, be interesting to compare to the old ones on the website.

I'm still expecting them to push a bit more than the SLP PowderPros, especially in looser snow, but maybe the darting I noticed with the RX1 I tried will be cured...

I will put them on this post tonight. You guy's will really like what you see.

I rode this past weekend with the USI VX-301s and 6" carbides and they seemed to work really well.

I was really able to carve the corners like my old Cat. But I also made adjustments to my suspension and rode further up on the seat when trails got twisty so it may have been one thing or a combo of things that helped.

I also got some miles this weekend on my RX with PX301s and 6 inch sharper bars. Seemed pretty good, seemed to steer pretty easily. I took away some coupling, moved the handlebars back just a bit so I didn't have to reach as far, and snow conditions were different, but overall I'm pretty happy right now. Snow had very little body but it did steer pretty well. A friend on an F7 with C&A Outlaws seemed to be comparable steering.

The Simmons post is up if you guy's haven't seen it. It is called New Simmons Carbides

I just completed a 1200 mile northern ontario trip running USI SPX skis. I ran in most every condition you would normally encounter: bare ice, extreme hardpack, freshly groomed hardpacked trails, 6 inches of new snow on trails, soft trails and even some off trail in deep snow. Skis performed well in all conditions! They seem to be a near perfect upgrade for the OEM Yamaha skis. Excellent combination of control naf handling. Super floatation in slop or deep snow. Suspension setup was stock except front shock springs 2 turns soft and FRA in softest position. studdog

OK, I've been a BIG supporter of the Simmons Skis and Bergstrom triple point skegs, and I still am. When I had them on the sled when it was a 121, they rocked. When I stretched it to a 136 this fall I had a TON of push, I felt out of control. I tried the C & A Pros, deep center keel with a single 6" shaper bar, plus the ski has outer keels w/o carbides. They worked much better than the Simmons with regards to push, but a little flimsy or loose once installed. So IMHO the Simmons are best for the 121 and the C & A's for the 136.

Indy what do you mean by a little loose once installed and do you feel that this effects the handling :rocks:
