05-07 had issues with the can chain tensioner, it was updated for '08. Is that the rs chassis or apex chassis venture? Imo the venture was better in the rs chassis. Not much to worry about, usual donut gaskets around 6000-7000 km, slide wear is common, do yourself a favor and fully clip the track or install anti-wear pads and it won't be an issue. Idlers didn't have replaceable bearings until '10, might be an upgrade to look at, or just add X wheels and cure 2 problems!

thanks for the info, I purchased the sled yesterday. Had the machine out for a ride today it works great, but I hate how the inside ski lifts so bad and its really tippy in twisting trails

It's all about suspension adjustment. Look up through the forum here as there's a lot of posts about adjusting the suspension on these. I bought my Venture GT last year and tipped it at least 4 times. Did a huge overhaul during the summer and found a bunch of bent pivot arms, missing hardware and improper installation of things on the back skid from the previous owner.Did you find a way to solve that problem?
Anyways I fixed her all up, re-adjusted the suspension to a little softer since it was set to full stiffness and what a world of a difference. Haven't tipped once this year and it is way easier to control now.
Good luck
