Viper Front suspension swap

Hey guys,
I am putting the 2016 front suspension off the Mtx's onto my 2015 Mtx, to narrow up the ski stance. Also my dad wants to put the A-Arms from my sled onto his 2014 Xtx. Would my dad have to buy new shocks for going to the 38-39" ski stance from his 42-43"?

Yes I believe they are shorter with same travel on Mtx. So that means shorter body.

The 2014 Xtx has a 10" front travel and the 15 Mtx has a 9" front travel

Yes but shock travel is same. Is a difference in overall travel because arms are narrower. So if you just shortened his shocks with a spacer and put your arms on he would have less than 9" of travel.

i have a set of exit x1 shocks for a 38'' front end for sale if he wants to scrap the air shocks and get coil shocks.
