Looking at installing a 141 Viper xtx skid into my 2012 Nytro xtx, has anyone ever looked into doing this? Wondering if it will bolt up fairly easy or if I would need to do modifications to make it work. Tunnel is stock 144 on my sled and would be running a 144x15x2.25 track with 8 tooth avid drivers.

Thanks in advance.

I own that exact setup. I can get you dimensions but it likely won't happen until,Friday. Running a Backcountry because I do trail ride it. You could also PM Throttle Jockey, he's the guy that built it.

Nice, so it has been done! Looks good, how dose it feel compared to old Nytro skid? Less sag and bottoming out? Less snow build up? I messaged throttle jockey will see if he can fill me in, hoping its workable!

Star Linkage Kit. $300

Still heavy that way... I forget the exact numbers but switching from the Nytro XTX skid to the float skid (no torsion springs) is good for nearly 25lbs of weight loss if I remember correctly.

It's not plush by any means, but once the air pressures are set, I can bomb through the roughest trails. Someone else mentioned weight. I was told 504lbs with fuel and it feels like it. Much easier than my Apex XTX to toss around. Even with the 1 3/4 track, I made it 1400 miles on a set of slides..I'm installing Duponts on it and that'll cure the minor slide issue. With the 1 1/2 setback, it transfers well but never too radical. It's not a wheelie machine like the Vipers

And I have a complete Star setup,in my Apex., and with revalveing both shocks, shortening the front shock and replacing the front shock spring, it was more than $300. It's more plush than the Viper skid, takes big hits very well, but is not as stable when pushed mile after mile through rough trails. The weight difference between the skids is VERY evident. The Viper skid just works better as a rough trail skid

Just saying a cheaper option if hes looking for a nicer ride. A new skid with shocks is alot more

Understood. I've found 141 float skids as cheap as $500. Say you buy one for $600 and sell your original for $300 you'd be in the same ballpark. All depends on what the end goal is.
