W-Arm - H-Arm Are they the same thing?

That looks like an aftermarket arm. It's possible that the manufacturer chose the H-arm design to utilize 2 stronger, H.D. arms instead of the weaker, OEM W-config? Maybe they will tell you who made it, and the model#?

I would definitely verify this, and ask for a written, money-back, gaurantee that it will work for the RX-1 shorty, before you bid. Otherwise, you will send a NASTY feedback report if it doesn't work.

LB is right, this is a H-arm for the mtn Pro=Action skid. I'm curious who the aftermarket company is that made this version. The one's I have seen all usr round Chr-Moly tubing for their designs. This is allmost identical to my stock Yamaha. Only difference in apperance is the two grease zerks at the end vs one in the middlle on my stocker and, the lack of gussets on the cross bar of the "H".

We developed a H arm from hardened aluminum a while back and it is for the shorties or mountains. We made it to be stronger and save weight. It saves over 6 pounds. The stock W arm weighs 8.25 pounds and our H arm weights 2.2 pounds.

That and the shorty rails have no place to mount the front shaft for the limiters. Maxdlx

I will try to get pictures of it installed shortly.

How the hell can an H arm work on a shorty? The reason its a W shape is because the rails have to pass through it.

LB, you can either work with the existing design, or you can redesign it altogether.

Maybe I'm wrong? But no one else used a W-arm design, and no one else had as much trouble with failing torque arms either.

The cause of the failures was in the position of the limiter straps - very close to the pivot, which caused excessive stress on the W-arm at the point where the strap crossed, not with the shape... fact is that the W is actually a better shape from a structural perspective.
