Mike, was it sent to you "overnight" ?? if so that is about right for the size of a seat. Packages not only are calulated by weight but there is also a "dim" factor. LxWxH. Next time, try 2nd day or ground if your not in a hurry. Also ask the vendor to use DHL they are cheaper than UPS.(plus thats where i work)

It sounds like they went to a UPS store. I shipped a gutiar and it cost me $35 for the box! The bigger the box the bigger the bill. Why an established business dosent have a shipping account of somekind is a good question? Maybe they mostly do local stuff. I guess it's to late since they already shipped it. If I were you when I get the seat I would take it to a ups store and see how much they would charge to ship back.
If it's under $150 call them up and :die

So Ive got 1 better. I was having a few with some buddys and we decided to brew our own beer. We went online to ebay and bid and won two stainless tanks, thinking of the perfect summer hobby. Well, the tanks 165 gallon and 60 gallon cost $650 and the kicker, shipping turned out to be $680, more than the friggen tanks. Needless to say, would have been cheaper taking the $$1300 and buying a boat load of beer, and to date have NOT even unpacked the tanks after 1 year!!!!

just got parts in. two different orders. the one that came through UPS was 78.00 dollars more than usps from around the same vicinity and same size boxes. after checking into why, UPS charges a broker fee which came to 49.99 + taxes and whatever else they added. thats just for crossing the border, yet the other places don't charge it

what i really want to know is how do you like the seat? what are you putting it on? keep us posted.

ups can honk on me for all i care, ordered a item that was 90 usd and the sobs charged me 56.33 for there brokerage fee :die

UPS rapes us on all incoming shipments to Canada
use USPS , or Fed x .

never never never never never never never never ever
use ups, biggest rippoff artists to deliver to Canada.I never could figure out why they get away with charging brokerage fees , yet usps doesnt.Usps is the way to go..

I ship my shock to Hygear Suspension, they charge with tax 719.99$ US,when i recieve the shock at the door i had to paid the border to Canada, but a mistake on the invoice made by Hygear Suspension they forget to mark that it was a repair,so i pay tax of the total value of the shock that they mark for insurance of 1579.99$ and a total cost of 335.99$ to UPS at the door :die

I am still in the process to get my money back...4 month later! :exc:

Never ever use UPS S**T!

You can get around the brokerage fees. Do not accept the package. Call the 1-800 ups number and tell them you want to clear the package yourself. When the paperwork is ready you pick it up at ups and take it to Canada customs. You pay just the tax and they stamp it. Take the stamped copy back to ups and they give you the package. Works when you have no choice in the matter.

Also ask the parts guys in the states to ship to Canada as a gift. No tax that way. Some do it for me and I'll always use them now.
