So...I'm away over the easter and today, halfway up the lift at the ski resort, my dad calls me(who has borrowed my rx1 over the weekend) and says that it just stopped and was throwing the check engine light.
After a bit of prying I got it out of him that the course of events where:
He had been riding slowly for 30 minutes+ then up on a plowed road for tenish minutes, he came to a dead end, put it in reverse, reversed, put it in forward...and it died!
He started it up and after all the customary blinks the orange ! Warning light comes on and he says that the check engine light flashes continuously without any pauses and that the temperature icon(on the display, not the separate warning light) is lit constantly, not flashing.
He also said that the sled runs perfect.
I'm 200 miles away until mid next week, any ideas on what I should be looking for when I get to the sled? Had it overheated?

It sure sounds like it overheated and it shutoff before it got too hot, let it cool down, pack the running boards with snow and get back in real snow quick!!!

overheat shutdown protection. as was said pack running boards with snow or go play in the powder for 10 min or so to get snow on the coolers.

Yeah, I got back home yesterday and went to have a look at the sled.
Everything seems ok now, drove it home without any problems so I guess it was just too hot.
I have never thought about it but should the chk engine light flash once at the same time as the warning light when starting the sled?
