A friend of mine at yamaha said he heard that the wastegate arm got froozen due to that there is no cover for the hole where the turbo lies. and that there is a problem on the apex aswell the nytro.
Not sure what to belive.. shouldnt the turbo melt all that comes near it.. and even if there will be some ice on it over the night or so, shouldnt it melt away rather quickly as the machine gets warm?

they can freeze closed sometimes, or they just get rusted shut... you will know if they stuck closed in a hurry.

You are not thinking about the control valve that is supplied with the new mcx kits? It is known that under certain conditions that a few has froze and caused overboost situations. A plate under the turbo and moving the control valve to the mufler side has been the answer for the problem. Some has even removed the valve. If you have a nytro or 2010 apex kit I would consider make a plate under the turbo.

Well thats my thinking. The control valve must be the one the eletrical goes to that also is pressurised? in my case its mounted behind the muffler.
Im battling on letting it be or making a plate that covers from beneath. But will that make the turbo to hot?
Also wondering, the t19 turbo is orginally watercooled but converterd to oil. so the outlet? is plugged. But the inlet i guess is not. And Erik at Mcxpress says it has no function and you throw grawel if you so want.?

Almost everyone covered it with a aluplate, and there's no heat problem.
Converted to oil?
Oil is for lubing, without it would sieze within a minute,
Water was for cooling, but in a snowmobile application that is not necessery, but after a long hard pull it's vice to let it cool down a couple of minutes before turning off the sled.
Throw grawel?
