I know it's too dang warm and that makes for lots of water but I'm still fighting this clutch heat. It appears that the area below the brake rotor is filling with water and possibly flinging the water up onto the clutches/belt. Seems crazy that's possible, what am I missing? I have a Yamaha belly pan installed. Is there supposed to be a drain hole? Too warm temps makes for too much water?

Rockerdan had a post where he drilled a hole on the bottom of the brake cover under the rotor.

If you have the Yamaha skid plate then yes it's probably holding a little bit of water. I have 1/16 inch holes drilled in all the low areas on that skid plate so it drains out. We also drill a few holes in the center of the skis so you don't have a little pond In those as well.

Looks like the snow/water is coming in from the area where the Yamaha trail skid plate meets the lower panel by the track. It's getting on top of the skid plate and runs into the low spot which is the below the brake rotor. That area fills up and then floods the area under the brake rotor, eventually getting flung around by the rotor. Maybe this is the source of my clutch problems? I'm gonna silicone the #*$&@ out of that whole area next to the track but I'm not very faithful that it'll hold, pretty large gap, up to 1/4". I also drilled drain holes in the skid plate at the low spot under the rotor and a bunch of water came out. Bad skid plate design in regards to this problem if you ask me.

Thanks, I do have the Yamaha trail skid plate. So with just the holes in the skid plate you no longer see pooling under the rotor? If you have the Yamaha skid plate then yes it's probably holding a little bit of water. I have 1/16 inch holes drilled in all the low areas on that skid plate so it drains out. We also drill a few holes in the center of the skis so you don't have a little pond In those as well.

3/16" hole lowest point works well....

Is that drilled all the way through to the brake rotor area? Or do you have a skid plate?

Did you watch the video? I thought it was quite self explanatory....LOLIs that drilled all the way through to the brake rotor area? Or do you have a skid plate?
Drill hole, pile of water comes out. No where else would water sit in a pool.
Did you listen to video? lol

Yeah I did. Water can pool in the skid plate as well, which is why I asked about the skid plate, because I have a skid plate. Again, it seems ridiculous to me that it could pool in the stock pan, and in turn fling off the brake rotor onto other components in the area, which is why I asked. Sorry if I wasn't as self explanatory...LOL

Yeah, in the video I talk about how this has been same design since 12 cat, in which I also drilled out that sled....so I thought maybe you did not watch/listen to vid.Yeah I did. A hole fixes it, no more water sits in there....back in 2012 I posted this originally and most everyone drilled them out ever since.
