Just installed Water Temp Gauge, just need to install sensor in coolant lines. Followed instructions on-line here, was just wondering if it makes any difference if I install the sensor just below the thermostat housing (just becuase it works better for my install) Tried following the lines in the service manual and not clear of path of coolant exactly? Will I get proper temp reading here?

i have just recenlty installed a water temp gauge in the cockpit and was looking around to see where to istall the temp sensor, when i saw a t-fitting from aeroquiment so i could use the stock idoit light and the gauge. i plan on ordering the fitting mon/tues.

Mine too.

IMO the main reason to install a guage is to see what temp your sled typically operates at rather than an exact reading. That way if you start to see higher than normal temps you can take steps to lower it.

Warrior, what temp does the idiot light come on at and what is normal temp?

Thanks warrior. I would think these temps would be the same as the Apex.

On my 04 rx-1 the temp warning light comes on at ~ 215-220 degrees F.
It normally runs at ~170-190 degrees F. Anything over ~200 degrees, I am looking for loose snow. I have fiddled with snow on the running boards when temps are ~200 and it works very well to add some snow on the boards. Even if you only do one side.
