Unfortunately, looks that way. But there is hope..Weatherbell and Joe Bastardi have been very good long range, as they are a pay site (with a free daily update). He said there would be a 2 week above normal spell, around the first...or mid December, months ago, and then watch out...cold and stormy for the rest of the winter, especially in the east. November has been very cold here in NY with at least 5 snowstorms, and our pond is frozen solid....haven't seen that in decades for this time of year. But a brown Christmas is probably 70/30 I'd guess.

Big temp swing in this area also, -18c(14 F ) yesterday morning and +4c( 36 F) by noon time, that's a 22 degree's swing in about 5 hours, was very cold here for the last 2 weeks, sitting at +4 right now, I hate SW wind, but snow on the horizon for Monday night into Tuesday thankfully, I 'm hoping that these big temp swings is not going to be the trend here for this winter, makes for a sucky winter season, last year was just awful here.
The temperature has been ok here in Manitoba but no significant snow and nothing promising in the long range forecast.

All snow is gone at my house in central MN. This has been the normal the last few years. It snows at the beginning of December getting us all excited for a good winter and then the week before Christmas we loose everything and it stays that way until late into the season. By then its pretty much too late to ride. I have excepted this as our normal winter now in MN. Pretty sad deal!

Don't lose hope! Even fox had an article on the polar vortex (which is crap...it's cold in the arctic. If average is -40 and it's above average, -30 is still cold!)
Anyway, they are now mirroring what Joe Bastardi said....he predicted this months ago...and says a gradual cool down after Christmas and a brutal January and February. Very similar to years past he uses for prediction. Next year will be 50 years waiting to ride..anticipating winter....and I still haven't given up hope...lol!
But Canada looked above average temp as the cold floods the central and eastern us, sort of from greenland.

This weather really has me bummed out. It started off great and all came crashing to a stop. They are taking about a decent snowfall for central MN next week(upwards of 10-12") but sadly I don't have much hope any more because when they say that its never even close and its always on the shorter end. Just once I would like it to be the other way around. In my life time here I have never experience a huge snow fall(23 yrs old). I want to experience a massive snowfall once in my life. My parents always talk about the Halloween snow storm of "91 I believe. It dropped 3 ft of snow on Minneapolis. I think that would be awesome!!!!!!!!

Well, we had 40 inches after a warm February last year and this was the result. This weather really has me bummed out. It started off great and all came crashing to a stop.
