Weekend messer upper

Ive been running the same HC's on all of my rx1's since 2003, and had heard all af the stories about breaking and damaging things. I figured that i had a couple of good sets and they have always had good performance. Heres what happened about 20 miles out on saturday morning.

hey that looks like my belt...goin across the lake wide open...all of a sudden lost 10mph and fuzz out of left side...wtf man. immediately stopped sled and looked at belt. wasnt nearly that bad. i think u might be tryin to hard to lower the center of gravity on ur sled

Same exact thing happened to me. My clutch weight went up instead of down though.

Yeah thats what i would expect after the phone conversation i had with HC after he got off his soap box a assured me this kind of failure only happened on the old models.

Did this happen after the belt blew?

I am pretty sure he blew the weight before the belt then the flying weight caulsed the belt to let go.

WTF, it happened again to mine today,.... ill never run hc's ever again, took out my entire clutch, all within 300 miles of the last set, if your running hc's that are over a couple of seasons old id pull em!

I would have thought that after all the posts about hc's blowing up, that guys would have learned their lesson.
