We weighed sleds on a certified scale with the following results: :ORC
We weighed six 05RX1's and they were 566 to 572 lbs. They were ready to ride except for gas. They all had about 1 gallon of gas.
My 04 Warrior, returned to stock, was 624 lbs after subtracting the weight of the studs. There was less than a gallon of gas in it.
The 05 Z's were 558 and 565 lbs ready to ride and 1 gallon of gas.
The 05 Fussion was 550 lbs ready to ride and 1 gallon of gas.

Yamaha's claimed dry weight on 2005's:
RX-1: 567 lbs
RX-1 ER: 582 lbs
Warrior: 604 lbs
Looks to me like they were pretty dang honest with their dry weights!

Nice post Scooby
Anything on the Vertor ER?
Does anybody remember what the Viper ER was?
I am amazed at how heavy the fusion and Z are.
12 gallon tanks on those I'll bet. So with a full tank the RX1 IS RIGHT THERE
It sure would be nice to have an END to the 'but they are so heavy" comments

Z has 10.6 gal fuel tank.. think it would make it all the way to the other side of the lake? No matter how fast it is, you could beat it in any race for when it runs out of gas.

With a swap in mufflers your looking at a easy 550-557lb sled

The trouble is, apparently the can alone on the Z weighs 23 lbs. This will be the first mod that Doo guys do also.

RX-1 is right there
Hopefully some of the weight bashers will see your post. I am amazed the RX-1 is within 10 lbs of the Polaris and virtually the same weight as a mach Z and those are two cyclinder two strokes. Plus the RX-1 has electric start and the best part is it is a 4-stroke. I would gladly give up a few hp for the 4-stroke motor.
Great post!
