Trailered the sled from Lindsay to Sudbury Thursday night, had it out for a blast on some trails the handling was way off just wouldn't bite on corners, later in the day parked looking at it the ski tips were pointing to the sky, out came the tools pulled off the skis for a look and there was a healthy 1/2 of ice build up on the back of the ski saddle of both skis under the bumper, after a quick clean up it was back to normal.
So if you don't get to store your sled in a warm garage or something similar I would suggest it's something to check once in awhile

There are holes in that area to drain the water but they freeze up and dont work !
Your right about ice build up !
Ski has bad design to get rid of ice much like mono- suspension !
Wake up Yamaha ! You need to make improvements here !

This might sound odd, but if you had 1/2" of ice on the bottom of the rear part of the "rubber," isn't that, in effect, the same cure for everyone's darting problem? You know, the "shim?"

That is too much and takes too much pressure off the carbide.

The way I ride, my ski tips are ALWAYS pointing to the sky... Hahaha.
Good find, thanks for sharing.
