my fix low snow front wheel kit and mid wheel kit was loose last year and oblonged a few holes in my rails. is welding the holes and redrilling them a good suggestion... has anyone done that before and what are the results? can it be done with the rails still on the sled?
is it better to drill out the hole a little bigger and put in a steel shim to bring it back to the correct size ? anyone tried that?

suggestions?
anyone have used apex gt rails for sale?

I imagine you get replacement blocks cheep. I'm thinking if you make the hole bigger to install a bushing you may make the block week.

Had this happen to me a couple times on Polaris sleds years ago. I used to take the rails into a machine shop and they'd fix it up for me. Looked like new when it was done. Actually had some holes done more than once.

1. Remove the kit and put it on ebay.
2. Relocate the kit, and use loc-tite.
3. Take the rail off, clean it up good and take it to a shop
4. Replace the rail
5. Operate your machine in good snow conditions, with the proper track tension, as this will reduce hyfax wear.

I have repaired these myself with good results, using a special brazing rod to solder the excess around a clean bolt that was clamped to the best side of the original hole (less filling to do without much drilling or drifting of the bit) But you can remove the kit and be on your way if need be.
