Welding stainless to mild steel for o2 bung???

I got a stainless o2 bung and have to weld it to a mild steel exhaust so should I swap it out for a steel bung or will the stainless be fine if I use the right wire????

You can use the stainless.

ur weld will rust out a lot faster then if it was just mild to mild or stainless to stainless. u get a lot of alloy migration when weldin 2 dissimilar steels. but it is possible and will work. but i would cover it up with something afterwards to pervent the rust.

Get some 309 filler wire it will work the best.

Bung

I did the same, stainless bung, on my Apex right in front of the muffler. I also coated the entire exhaust including muffler and bung with Eastwood's stainless steel coating.
