I already have the hoist and will be painting the floor soon. Oh yeah, the beer fridge is always stocked. Only problem is my buddies like to stop by but never seem to replace the "one-or-two" beers they have!!!!
I have the same problem. LOL!
Tonight I will be putting four sleds up in the loft. One of each brand! I will post a pic.
All four brands in the storage loft. Of course the Yamaha gets the end spot with the best view!

The electric chain hoist is a Dayton brand from Grainger. It is a bit underrated in capacity but I only use it twice a year. This is the tenth year and it is still working fine. There is a strong beam in the rafters that distributes the load over several roof trusses. I know that it is rigid and strong because the sheetrock ceiling has no cracks!

Make sure you check the brake air gap and oil once in a while and that thing will last forever. What capacity is it? 1 ton

It is a half ton model which I think is pushing it with the unknown combined weight of the aluminum platform and the Yamaha VX1100 watercraft and the V-Max motorcycle that were up there in the wintertime and the Apex during the summer.

What a set up. Good work there for sure. My mess of a storage building and garage make feel guilty now

Just curious how do you move them the last few feet from the hoist over unto the shelf.

You must be looking at the pictures I took while the sleds were being lifted but not all the way up yet. Look at the Ski Doo picture, you will see that the lift goes all the way up to be level with the storage loft.
You can see in the Ski Doo picture that once the platform is level it is bolted to the storage loft beam and two telescoping legs are swung down to the ground. At this point the four point harness attached to the chain hoist can be removed and it is a stable free standing platform for rolling the sleds, bikes, tractors, or watercraft on or off.
